Xiaomi - The Chinese brand began its existence in 2010, when eight entrepreneurs led by billionaire Lei Jun decided to create a company that would be able to implement their common concept of a “convenient phone”. The first innovative product of the new company was the MIUI operating system for Android platforms, which in a short time turned out to be very popular in the Chinese market.
Having drawn the right conclusions from such a successful start, the brand develops and in 2011 releases its first smartphone Xiaomi Mi One with the MIUI OS. The device causes a sensation in the Chinese market and at the same time makes the company extremely successful. The company receives full investments not only from Chinese funds, but also from the American Qualcomm Ventures, and begins preparations for entering the global market.
A new development helps the company to conquer international buyers - the Xiaomi Mi Two smartphone. After the release of this model, the Chinese brand becomes a world-famous corporation. Many consider the company similar in style to Apple, and its leader Lei Jun, respectively, to be the Chinese Steve Jobs.
In addition to smartphones, the corporation from the Celestial Empire is betting on tablets, headphones and headsets and various smart gadgets, such as action cameras, TV set-top boxes, alternative computer mice, etc. The company also has routers in its assortment.
Interestingly, Xiaomi's management considers its main goal to be undisputed world domination in the smartphone market. Yes, not in the Chinese market, but in the global market. Time will tell whether the corporation's bosses will be able to implement their ambitious plans.
